THE Yellow Springs Community Web Project

We at 2BS Designs, a Yellow Springs company, have recently launched THE Yellow Springs Web Project. This venture attempts to unify the Yellow Springs web community through the development of a common portal that gives complete content control to the participating artist, business, or organization. The maximum ease of user-contribution, collaboration, and customization (with the non-technology-type person in mind) is the underlying goal.

In particular, we’re designing a community of  web sites that transcend dull functionality. Technically and artistically creative web “skins” are individually crafted to reflect not only the character of the web site owner, but also the inimitable Yellow Springs’ spirit. As individual members update their own sites, the fresh content is pulled onto the main portal page (www.ysprings.com). Visitors to that main page can then “one-stop-shop” for the latest information, happenings, or business and product news. Additionally, site visitors can sign up to receive electronic newsletters (via email) with this same latest information and any other content the site owner wishes to share. With this targeted approach, we’re hopeful that the project will increase both sales for Yellow Springs’ individuals and businesses and funds coming into the village.

The project is being incrementally developed to eventually incorporate all Yellow Springs web sites. Currently our project offers free sites, using standard templates, and owner-paid custom sites. In the end, the unique products, events, and essence of Yellow Springs’ community will be more readily available to the extended Yellow Springs internet family.
